As promised an ongoing part of this blog is to provide you with tips about functions and updates to this blog site. If you know of other plugins that will provide great functionality, please let us know.

I sometimes pass the time in airports by reading twitter updates. As a real geek I follow some geeky twitters. A few weeks ago I found a twitter about this WordPress Plugin. TDO Mini Forms plugin.

Plugins are the lifeblood of a WordPress site. They provide endless options for functionality. And, of course, as a geeky person I have a need to try stuff. The TDO Mini Forms plugin allows you to provide a form(s) to your readers and users so that they can submit posts to your blog, even if they don’t have rights to do so. You can control what type of users, such as unregistered users and subscribers, can access and use the form. Posts are submitted as draft so that you can approve them before they are published. Most of these settings can be modified to meet your needs and requirements.

So I noted this information and sent it off to the ever patient and wonderful Kim Woodbridge. Through her magic and knowledge she implemented the plugin and set up two different functions that are new to the Insurance Ecosystem blog. You will now find a tab for NEWS and a tab for EVENTS. You are invited and encouraged to complete the form provided on the appropriate tab to announce your insurance industry related NEWS and or EVENT. This provides you with another outpost to get your message out in the social media world. Remember your website or blog is your home base. Facebook, Twitter and other venues are your outposts. Insurance Ecosystem is becoming a good outpost and we are working on becoming a great outpost. Our current Website Grade is 88. Our current Blog Grade is 66.62. Base done the provided analysis there are some things we can do to improve the website grade such as registering in the Yahoo! Directory. However, another part of the equation is age. It is a big part of the Blog Grade. We are monitoring these and will continue to improve both grades so that this becomes a strong outpost for your information.

What other functions would you like to see at Insurance Ecosystem’s site? What do you find of benefit now?

  • Pat,

Love the new enhancements. The press release section will allow more readers to engage with the Ecosystem while providing them with a valuable SEO tool that also shares information on services and ideas. As for ideas, maybe offer some multimedia content or run some polls. An important thing for people to understand is that blogs NEVER have to be finished. You can always find new, cool plug-ins and play around with the theme look, as long as it keeps the integrity and provides quality content.

    • Nick, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Ecosystem enhancements and the additional ideas. I fear that some agencies think that their blog is created and done except for adding content occasionally. I love the looking for new ideas part. I prowl other blogs and take in what they use and what is cool and beneficial.
