Real Time/Download Best Practices Working Group

ACT announces new working group.

2010 is a year when we are seeing continuing growth in Real Time functionality being made available to agents, in terms of numbers of carriers, transactions offered & the extension to more lines of business. Agents are also experiencing ongoing refinements in the workflows offered by some carriers and vendors, so that the transactions are faster, involve fewer steps and error out less frequently. To support these positive developments, the Real Time/Download Campaign is setting up a Real Time Best Practices Work Group consisting of agents to provide the agents’ perspectives as to the key distinguishing characteristics of real-time workflows provided by carriers and vendors that result in the best agency experiences and thus encourage greater agency use of the functionality. The work group will also look at best practice carrier and vendor roll outs of Real Time that drive the greatest agency usage of the functionality.

Once this agent work group has defined the Real Time best practice workflows and roll out strategies from its perspective, it will encourage interested carriers and vendors to meet with it to provide their input on these best practice workflows and help the work group continue to refine its findings.

If you are an agent who is a regular user of real-time functionality and would like to help foster continued improvements in these workflows, please volunteer to serve on this work group by emailing me. I have shared this email with all ACT participants so that everyone is aware of the work group and its charge. The work group’s charge follows:

Real Time Best Practices Work Group
Charge: This work group, consisting of regular agent users of real-time functionality, will identify the key distinguishing characteristics of real-time workflows provided by carriers and vendors that result in the best agency experiences and thus encourage greater agency use of the functionality. The work group will also identify best practice carrier and vendor roll outs of Real Time that drive the greatest agency usage of the functionality.

Thanks, Jeff
