The attached Real Time/Download Campaign’s 2011 agency survey provides the full survey findings. This report includes the industry’s latest data on agency usage of Real Time and Download. As might be expected, most of the 3,700 agents who responded have agency management systems (97%) and 90% are downloading to some degree. The report addresses the frequently asked question as to which tools agents are currently using for personal lines and commercial lines real-time quoting (pp. 10-11). There is also helpful information on the benefits of Real Time (p. 5) and the time savings being achieved from both the use of Real Time (pp. 12, 13 & 15) and Download (pp. 6-7).
The industry wants to increase the number of agencies downloading commercial lines and using real-time rating for commercial lines. The survey provides good guidance on the reasons many agencies are not using these tools for commercial lines today and thus, the issues that need to be addressed (pp. 8 & 14). One of the most useful charts in the report provides the agents’ priorities for improvements in Real Time (p. 18). As this chart points out, it is critical for the industry to continue its efforts to get additional carriers to implement Real Time and for us to achieve more consistency across carriers in the transactions and lines of business where Real Time is offered. To this end, the Real Time Campaign has developed Agency Real-Time “Best Practice” Workflows and Implementation Strategies designed specifically for carrier and vendor implementers. There is also good information on the improvements agents would like to see with real-time endorsements (p. 19).
